When CM Met CFC SFL

Last November 13, 2010, from 8am-5pm, CFC SFL had it’s first-ever Vocation Seminar at the CFC Foundation for Family and Life Home Office in Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong City.

There were about twenty single women who attended the said event that was facilitated by the Carmelite Missionaries (CM). There were three guest sisters from the said congregation namely Sr. Maria Rosa D. Cruza, Sr. Dedith B. Moralde, and Sr. Virginia P. Dolero.

Fr. Gerry Orbos, SVD made a surprise visit to the whole group. He gave a short talk about the Vocation in general that put everyone into the right, open and positive disposition. Then, it was followed by an input proper given by Sr. Marose that deepened the women’s understanding about religious life.

After the lunch break, two SFL sisters – Ms. Raine Eguico and Ms. Ann Padilla (both from the District of Novaliches) - who are currently live-out aspirants of the Carmelite Missionaries shared their vocation stories.

The seminar ended with a holy mass.

This event proved to be a success based on the positive feedback given by the participants. The SFL sisters turned out to be more interested about religious life. Some were even reported to be willing to go to the next search-in activity of the CM sisters in the month of December. This is a clear manifestation that their perspective has widened when it comes to the vocation that they are to take in life.

What a good start to promote vocations in a budding vocation ministry like CFC SFL! Greater things are indeed yet to come. May God be praised!

(Raine Eguico, CFC YFL Full-time Pastoral Worker/CM Live-out Aspirant)
